Galapagos La Tortuga -2023
Galapagos La Tortuga coffee returned to the Seattle Reserve Roastery on January 3, 2023.
This marks the fifth offering of a Reserve Galapagos Island coffee, but only the fourth Reserve Roastery launch of this coffee.
This coffee holds the extremely unique distinction as the first coffee officially designated with the Reserve branding, back in 2010, long before any Roastery locations were open.
The second offering of this coffee came in 2018: In this article you can see the 2018 Reserve card as well as the original 2010 branding of this coffee. (The 2018 coffee is the second Reserve offering but the first time it was at a Roastery, given that the Seattle Roastery opened in 2014).
The third offering of this coffee came in 2020: Notice that in 2020, the artwork on the card was exclusive to that year.
The fourth offering of this coffee came in January 2022. The January 2022 card artwork is identical to this year’s 2023 artwork, and only the tasting note descriptions have been changed. Apparently 2022 was “Sweet-toned and juicy, with notes of white peach, cashew butter and cocoa.”
This year’s Galapagos coffee is described as “Notes of sweet nectarine and toasted macadamia nut with a hint of lemon thyme.”
