Decaf Costa Rica Bella Vista
This is a Roastery exclusive coffee – and wonderful hot or iced! Once in a blue moon, it appears on StarbucksStore.com and when it does, here’s what Starbucks tells you about this coffee:
A testament to our longstanding relationship with the farmers.
Why we love this coffee
The eruptions of Volcan Irazu in 1962 left Bella Vista—one of Costa Rica’s oldest and most storied coffee farms—covered in 37 cm of volcanic ash. The damage was so extensive that restoration of the estate wasn’t complete until the 1990s. Bella Vista now turns out coffees we’re proud to call some of our favorites. This one is lusher and rounder than many Costa Rican coffees, with a citrus snap.
Decaf Costa Rica Bella Vista F.W. Tres Rios has been available at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room since its opening on December 4, 2014.
The non-decaf version of this coffee, often known simply as Bella Vista, was frequently seen inside Starbucks stores throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.
A note for the Reserve tasting card collectors. There are two versions of the Decaf Costa Rica card. Only the 2014 version is shown here. There are a number of differences between the cards, but for the sake of simplicity, one card has the year 2014 on the back and the other has the year 2015 on the back.
