Colombia Santana El Bolsón
Colombia Santana El Bolsón made its debut at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room in Seattle on Monday, May 10, 2016.
There were numerous bags of this coffee near the green coffee loading pit when I dropped by on May 12th. I always think it's fun to see the burlap sacks that the coffee comes in. I confirmed with Master Roaster Josh Reed that the burlap sacks at the green coffee loading pit (in the pics below) were indeed for the coffee Colombia Santana El Bolsón.
I dropped by the Roastery on May 18, 2016, and Roaster Susan was roasting a batch. We got the chance to look at the coffee from green unroasted to fully roasted. It's a great coffee to see how coffee beans get larger after they're fully roasted. Coffee beans expand with each "pop" in the roaster. These are beautiful, big Colombian beans, and the green beans are perfectly washed with few imperfections. I took a photo of a fully roasted bean right next to green coffee so you can see how the bean has expanded after roasting.
